All the positive self talk in the world will not accomplish this. The process takes time. Rushing and pushing to change your mind-set
overnight will only accomplish more anxiety and negative thoughts about why it's not working.

A girl I went to college with had a problem with thinking negatively and seemed to constantly be reminding herself to think positive.
So vehement were her orders it was obvious that nothing was going to change any time soon. The fact that she had to try so hard to make
herself do such a laborious task as think positively meant she would be more likely to go further into negative thinking patterns.
Forcing Yourself Into Thinking Positively
Many people have exactly this problem, thinking they have to force themselves into these new ways of thinking. Through doing this they
ultimately push their real feelings and desires aside.
The truth is everyone is human, and no one feels perfectly good every minute of every day. You don't want to suppress your emotions, and
should instead focus on learning the art of genuinely turning a negative into a positive.
As defined by the Law of Attraction, whatever you focus your energy and attention towards you will attract, even if that is something you
don't want at all.
The Connection Between Thinking Positively And Focusing On What You Don't Want
The problem most people have converting to positive thought processes is focusing on what they don't want. This doesn't mean you sit around
and think "I really want to get sick", but if you think "I really don't want to get sick" it is just the same.
In both scenarios you are concentrating on getting sick, and words like not and don't mean nothing to the universe. Instead of reminding
yourself not to forget something, try "I will remember ..."
Be very wary of hidden messages in your attempts at thinking positively. Stating the obvious is a good sign that you have some
underlying issues of self worth, such as saying "I want a loving partner".
The Connection Between Thinking Positively And Your Subconscious Feelings
Any partner should be loving, and it wouldn't be a thing you needed to ask the universe for if you hadn't been wounded in the past or
believed you were worthy of being loved.
Another example of this could be someone affirming that they "will have an accident free year": This insinuates they are deep down
afraid of having one, so the underlying driving force behind the thoughts is the fear not the desire in the conscious mind.
The best way to get on top of the situation and really become a positive thinker is to be aware your feelings rather than your
thoughts. When you imagine what you want, feel it and try to amplify the feelings rather than continuing thinking.
Whether your feelings are relating to your current life or the life you want, stay in the positive and let them run the show for a while.
Learn The Power Of Positive Thinking With A Creation Box
An activity to re-align you with the Law of Attraction is making a creation box: Find pictures, notes, ideas and phrases to cut out and
put in the box, and make them all of things that arouse your feeling of what you want your life to be.
At least weekly you can go through the box to remind yourself. Write a diary, spending time each day reporting on everything you're
thankful for and then putting all the good feelings that stimulates into writing more about what you know is being attracted towards you
behind the scenes.
Try seeing the art of thinking positively in a new light and instead call it positive feeling. This will further bring your goals and
dreams to fruition, leaving you open to receive what you are sending out for.
