So here's a question for you: How much time should you spend on positive affirmations each day?
Ten minutes? Fifteen? Thirty? Heck, maybe you should spend an hour on them. The more time you
devote to them, the better, right? Actually, no. Spending too much time on daily affirmations
could end up working against you.
If you make it a rule that you absolutely MUST spend twenty minutes or something like that
repeating your affirmations, it's going to become a dreaded chore. It turns into that distasteful
thing you avoid doing as much as possible, such as taking out the garbage.
So You Procrastinate...
You think about spending half an hour repeating the same old statements, then say, "Eh, I'll do
it later." Time passes, and you give up on the task altogether. That's not so good.
A few minutes a day might not seem like a lot, but it's better than nothing. In fact, it's
a LOT better than the alternative. You should try to make daily affirmations a pleasure,
not something that makes you balk and groan inside.
Some days you may want to spend more time on them, and other days you may only dwell on
them for a minute or two. As long as you aren't overwhelmed by negative self-talk the rest
of the day, it should work out fine.
Don't Turn Your Affirmations Into An Unpleasant Chore
Try to spend some time on them every day, but at the same time, don't beat yourself up just
because you don't feel like spending half an hour on them. A few minutes could be all you need.
