Having Faith In God
The Funny And Not So Funny

But when all is told, you discover that either they do have this faith and are using it to their advantage, or they don't have it and aren't even aware they don't.

Sometimes I like to relate what I'm talking about by sharing real stories of the people I know that are involved in changing their lives or wanting to change their lives and this article will be one of those stories.

Actually there are four stories I want to share that concerns the lives of four people I have known over the years. Some of these stories about having faith in God are funny and some are not so funny. I will let you decide which person is truly demonstrating their faith and who isn't.

The stories will be very short and to the point ... coming directly from conversations I had with these people...

First Story

She prayed this prayer for three years and it seemed like it would never be answered, but she never gave up.

One day while working in her garden, her nephew came for a visit and she relayed to him how she had been praying for the Lord to send her someone new to love. Jokingly her nephew told her that maybe the Lord didn't hear her or maybe He didn't think she was serious.

So she stood up and yelled out, "Lord, I know you hear me, but in case you don't, I'm serious! I want a husband and I want him NOW! Then she politely when back to gardening. Within one week she met the perfect man for her and a month later they were married. All from having faith in God!

Second Story

This young lady is on a rollcoaster ride that keeps going round and round on the same course and she has been on this ride for most of her life. She claims she has faith and that she prays for God to help her get her life together, but she keeps doing the same things that are guaranteed to keep her on the same track.

In a recent conversation I told her that she couldn't keep using people and not expect to be used. That if she insisted on doing the same things she's always done, then she can expect the same results she's always gotten! Her response was a shrug and nonchalance.

You know what? Age has no boundaries when it comes to being un-aware. She and I have had this conversation for ten years and counting, but she continues to tell me that she has faith that God will help her change. I continue to tell her that she has to want that change!

Third Story

Five years is a long time, but she never stopped praying. There were some moments when she questioned if she was good enough, smart enough or maybe God didn't hear her or love her. But she always pulled through those moments because she realized that He was the answer to opening the doors that needed to be opened.

This year the city finally came through and said they would build her a new home on the lot where her burned home now stands. The stipulation... she must get home owners insurance. She also found a home to rent until her new home is built. The owner is only charging her $400 month for rent.

Needless to say, she is excited and thrilled about how things are now going in her life. Having faith in God is worth it! Of course she gives Him the glory and knows that it's because of God, her prayers, and her faith and patience that things turned out the way they did.

Fourth Story

The control your mind has over your body is phenomenal and when you put that together with faith... it is unstoppable!

A lady I know had cancer years ago. She had been diagnosed as being terminal. She had the radiation and chemotherapy and all she got was weaker and weaker. Her doctor, family, friends and co-workers didn't expect her to live much longer, but what they forgot was her congregation at her church and the power of faith and prayer.

She is a strong lady who knows where her blessings come from and who the glory should go to. Her faith is strong and has been tested many times in the past, but I believe having cancer was her strongest test yet.

Each evening a friend of mine - who happens to be a member of this lady's church - would go to her home and pray for her and with her. Having faith in God, her faith and patience, her will to survive, her will to heal her body banished all traces of the cancer.

Needless to say her doctors were shocked and amazed and ran test after test, but couldn't find any traces of the cancer that had been attacking her body. That was 33 years ago and this lady is still alive, healthy and 66 years old today.

This is only a small sample of the funny and maybe not so funny stories that everyday people are experiencing. Some have it right and some don't... and some use different terminology for the same events, but having faith in God and applying the law of attraction is something we all have access to. How we use it however, is another story.
