Gratitude Journal The Importance Of A Gratitude List
Living In Gratitude Changes Your Outlook On Life
The importance of keeping a gratitude journal or a gratitude list is to remind you of all
the blessings you do have in your ilfe, and to keep you focused on the positive things
happening, instead of the negtive things.
This is an easy step toward living in gratitude and it will help you more than you think. If
you haven't started one, now is the time to do it. This process alone can change your
way of thinking and looking at the world around you. Think about! If this journal keeps
you focused on the positive instead of the negative, then it stands to reason more
positive things will happen in your life.
Writing in your journal each day not only keeps you focused on the positive,
but it also gives you a record where you can compare your days at the end of one
year, and see how much you've accomplished.

A Gratitude Journal Can Change Your Life By Wil Dieck
Do you have a gratitude journal? If you don't you are missing out on one of the best
tools available to you to help you make yourself feel better right away. What exactly is
a gratitude journal?
A gratitude journal is a journal where you write down only your positive thoughts every
evening. The first thing you need to do is to begin carrying a small notebook or, even
better, a 3 x 5 file card in your pocket or purse.
Every day, as you notice them, take
out your notebook or 3 x 5 card and write down
at least five things that you are
grateful for as they happen. Before bedtime, transfer
these positive thoughts from your
notebook or 3 x 5 card into your gratitude journal
so you can go to sleep thinking
about the positive events that happened to you during the day.
You say that you can't come up with five positive thoughts?
Let's give it a try. The things you could be grateful could range from the courteous
service at the grocery store, a phone call from a friend, the love of a family member, a
driver that let's you into traffic or even the feeling of being surrounded by the peace of
God. If you pay attention there is really a lot to be grateful for.
Now I know that writing in your journal is much easier after you have had a
great day. You are already in a great mood so your hand just gets to work. But if you
have had a bad day, you still have to write five things down that you are grateful for. It
will probably be a lot tougher, but if you used your notebook or 3 x 5 card during the
day you should have at least five things to be grateful for. And that's the point.
The reason you start a gratitude journal is to help you find the positive things happening
in your life. How you look at the world is learned. You have taught yourself to look at
the world the way you do. So if you want to change the way you look at the world you
have to change your habitual behavior. A gratitude journal teaches you to look for the
positive in what might otherwise be perceived as a dreary day.
It's on the terrible and depressing days that your journal does
its work for you
Even though times have been tough, because you have been on the lookout for them
you still have been able to find at least five things about your life that you are grateful
for. Though they may only be mundane things like having a place to live in and
transportation to get you to where you want to go, you have still forced yourself to find
a silver lining in a dark cloud of a day.
Here's an even better thing. On a good day, you'll find that you are so grateful for all the
good things that have happened to you. You will feel truly blessed. So no matter what
kind of day you have, it's a win-win situation.
If you are feeling stressed, down in the dumps and blue about life, start a gratitude
journal. It will make a world of difference in your life. If will force you to regularly look at
your life and be thankful for all the good things that you have been given. Start a
journal today to keep reminding yourself of all the great and positive blessings
in your life.
