Are you living in faith or fear? Or are you living in both? Well living in fear and faith isn't the answer. Overcoming fear by having faith in God to help you with this battle is the answer, but never-the-less, there are some people who do live in fear, and to them it's more than a battle.

Fear can cripple you to the point where you can't function. Fear can take everything you know and twist it until you can't recognize it anymore.

Fear Can Be Insidious

I've been there. Some fears have always been with you. Some just tend to creep up on you, and leave you wondering where they came from.

My experience with fear came about with the collapse of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge... that connects St. Petersburg, Florida with Manatee County.

You Can't Live In Fear And Faith

Until that time, I had no problem driving over bridges. In fact I enjoyed it very much. But with that incident came the bout with fear.

The fear of driving over bridges terrified and petrified me. This fear was so great, that I thought I would cause an accident whenever I crossed a bridge. I was letting the fear of driving over bridges take over my life!

I realized this battle with fear had to come to an end. I knew the negative side effect, and I also knew you couldn't live in fear and faith. You have to choose one or the other. It was then that I knew I had to have faith of the heart, and that having faith in God to protect me at all times, was the only way of overcoming this fear.

I also knew that if I didn't stop it... it would only grow to the point where I would not even drive over a bridge.

Get Rid Of Fear By Acknowledging It

Having faith in God made me acknowledge to myself that there was a problem with fear... and that it was affecting me mentally and physically. I had to also admit that I couldn't let this negative emotion rule my life.

I asked myself, faith or fear? You can't live in fear and faith, you have to choose which will dominate your life. So through faith of the heart and having faith in God (Infinite Spirit, Universe) to protect me and keep me safe, I chose faith.

God Is Greater Than Fear

Sometimes you can loose sight of your faith. It's your job to remember who protects you and who lovingly keeps you safe.

God is greater than fear, so don't let fear control your life. This is something I had to remember.

When I drive over a bridge now, I always remember the battle with faith or fear, but the important thing is that the fear of driving over bridges no longer rule my life, and I'm no longer living in fear and faith!

Are You Living In Faith Or Fear

It's now time to ask yourself how are you living your life? If it's in fear... then God can fix that for you. If you're living in faith - then rejoice and give thanks!
