A Relationship That Lasts Forever

"Whoever said everything has to be forever, that's setting your hopes too high. It's too much pressure. And I think if you put that pressure on yourself -- because I did! Fairy tale! It has to be the right one! -- that's unattainable.

This whole 'Poor lonely Jen' thing, this idea that I'm so unlucky in love? I actually feel I've been unbelievably lucky in love. Just because at this stage my life doesn't have the traditional framework to it -- the husband and the two kids and the house in Connecticut -- it's mine.

It's my experience. And if you don't like the way it looks, then stop looking at it! Because I feel good. I don't feel like I'm supposed to be any further along or somewhere that I'm not. I'm right where I'm supposed to be."

I feel very strongly that we project and create the type of relationships we will have with family, friends and lovers. Whatever you feel and believe will be reflected in your relationships.

But know that Ms. Aniston is not alone. I've known and still know men and women who keep attracting the same type of people and relationships into their lives, because this is what they feel and believe their lives should be.

As long as a person believes an abusive partner loves them and that this is how it should be, then that person is doomed to attract those kinds of people and relationships.

As long as a person believes they are un-loveable, and that the only reason someone would love them is because of their money, or looks or what they can do for the other person - then this is the only kind of relationship they will ever attract.

So, if you, like Ms. Aniston, believes you're where you should be in your life and relationships. And that relationships don't last forever... that it's a fairy tale that is unattainable. Then more than likely, that is exactly what you will get.

Your thoughts and beliefs do become things. They become your life and your relationships, and I don't believe it's any more pressure to set your hopes high for a loving, loyal and lasting relationship - than it is to hoping you'll get the next part in a hit TV show!
